Guys, Im contemplating embarking on the rebuild of a 1991-93 90hp force motor. I would like to source a factory manual to help me along the way. Can anybody link me to a relaible source of such a thing? Dont mind paying for a download, just want to make sure its a factory one and relevant to my motor. Been burnt before!!

many thanx

Re: Factory Force Manual

Sorry, have never heard of any factory manuals available for download.

Personally, I would spend the few extra $$ and get the one below.

1992 was a parts transition year.
fuel pump, and ignition systems changed. This manual should cover all model configurations.

Re: Factory Force Manual

download is here:
CHRYSLER FORCE OUTBOARD MOTORS SERVICE & REPAIR MANUAL (1964 to 1999) - DOWNLOAD! - Download Manuals & Technical

but yeah, nothing like having the hard copy.
In regards to my motor, its got the early round type fuel pump, so Im assuming it falls within the 91-93 era of motors?
It has a serial number on the leg but it faded so cant be read. Is there another way of finding out exactly what year the motor is?.

Thanx roscoe, its seems your the man I should be speaking too!!

Re: Factory Force Manual

Regardless of what they say on that site, it is not a factory manual.
From what I see, it is complied from several copyrighted publications.

2 stage fuel pump was discontinued in mid 92 model year, so your motor is 1990-92.

Furthermore, the 1090-91E models used the bright blue cd modules and coils, along with a terminal strip for wire harness connections. They also had an exposed voltage rectifier with 4 terminal screws.

The 91H-92c models changed to a switchbox with screws holding the wires, and very dark blue or black coils, along with a sealed (potted) voltage rectifier.

Later 92 models, along with the 93-94-95 models, used a sealed switchbox with wires hanging out of it, with bullet connectors on the end of the wires.

You may luck out and find a small white paper production line label under the cowl. Sometimes on the side of the head, the starter, the block, or flywheel. It might contain a model or a serial number.

Those are the only visual year indicators I know of.

Re: Factory Force Manual

I think you can safely call that a 1992c model.

The only thing I would be careful about ordering, is carb parts.
They also changed in late 92, but on a slightly different timeline.
Verify carb model before ordering.

Nice looking motor.
