Hi guys,

Does anybody know what is the factory issued prop for a 88 125hp Force, which pitch and size was originally installed on these engines back in the day?

Thanks!

There was no "factory issued" prop. propeller selection was matched to the hull the engine was mounted on. That said, stock props were 13 inch nominal diameter in various pitches and manufactured by Michigan. There are at least two recent posts on this forum explaining this. Search them.

If you have a prop; read "read this first' at the top of the prop forum get us the prop size and your wot rpm and gps speed.
We may be able to tell if you need a prop and what size.

Re: Factory issued or original prop for 88 125hp Force

I have a 12 3/4 17pitch Al prop, 5300rpm at wot I can only reach 33mph(gps) with 2 people and 15 gl of fuel.
Thinking on getting a 13, 19 pitch Al new prop.
Does this sound right?
Should i increase pitch?

Thanks!

Are you sure about propeller size and RPM. My AL Force(1984/125hp) propeller is 13.25" 17p at 5200rpm = 41mph GPS. On a 1984 18ft AL Nordic Crestliner, two large persons, two batteries, and 12 gal fuel.

I wonder if your tach is accurate? You have very high slip at about 33% !0% is about normal. Is your prop in good shape?
I have your gear ratio at 1.73.you gave us gps speed your 5300 rpm and prop size. so it appears the known numbers that could wrong
is the tach. Perhaps you can borrow a shop tach too verify your tach.
Is the anti vent plate (just above the prop) about even with the bottom?
Is the bottom clean and smooth?
Does the boat respond to up trim?

Is pretty clean, my prop is not in great shape that's why I need to get a new one, my tilt trim doesn't work right now, working on getting a new one now.
Are those aftermarket pumps at ebay reliable? 19 pitch will do it with a functioning trim?

Thanks!
