I changed my oil and filter this past weekend and noticed that the one I pulled off (which read AC Declo and still had the factory sticker reading "Tested and Inspected" not to mention it was painted red matching the factory paint on the block) that it was shorter than the one I bought from my VP dealer using my eninge SN. The new one screwed on without any problems. Anyone else run into this?
Also, showing my true rookie mechanical prowess I used the filter wrench to tighten the new one one. Then read the directions not to do so. (I don't know if that's a rookie move or just being a guy; who needs directions?) Anyway, I unscrewed it, saw the couple of scrapes on the sides from the strap wrench of the new filter and then proceeded to hand tighten it back on as instructed. Am I due a new filter and new oil or will this one work for the year?
