After having the old seloc manual and the online down-loadable one for a while.. I found a used OMC manual on E bay.. Made a offer and scored it:D..

For all you think, well I don't really have to have the factory one.. Yep you need it:p.. It's so much better than the alternative.. Charts are easier to read and understand.. Loaded with clear pictures and understandable steps for repair.. The wife didn't understand why I wanted to spend money on a used old paperback book.. Once she saw how happy it made me.. A couple of OMGs this is awesome.. She was happy with the money spent..

Get ya one while the gettin is good.. A must have for those of us who do all our own boat repairs

They're hard to come by for those of us with crusty old Stringers :)

Indeed it is. I was searching for "omc stringer" not "omc sterndrive" - oops.

I bought the proper OMC one for my rig for about the price of 20 minutes worth of gas.

I just bought a factory shop manual from 'another' boating site, it should be here in a few days. I'll post more details when it arrives. So far I've been doing OK with the original owners booklet and an older Glenn's manual, but some of the pics and descriptions leave a little to be desired.

You get good at e bay hunting when you got a OMC...

I'm beginning to fully understand that.

My original OMC manual may well be the best $55.00 plus shipping I have ever spent.

I don't have any experience with the "off brand" manuals, but after reading the disparaging remarks on this forum about them, I went straight for the OEM book and didn't look back.

A tip of the hat to all the experienced boat owners on this site who share their knowledge - your contributions are greatly appreciated by noobs like me.
