Smiling... Yes to both. There are quite a few compounds to help regain the shine on your boat. I tried quite a few on mine. None seemed to give me the results I wanted. So I wet sanded the whole boat. Started with 400grit and went back over it with 1000grit. Then with a variable buffer brought back the shine with rubbing compound. You might want to try this on a small part to make sure it is what you want to do. Believe me it is LOTS of work. I have a 24ft boat. LOL lots of work. Good luck.
