i need to repower my boat currently have an evinrude 1978 150hp a local outboard repair shop have a fresh rebuilt 1988 evinrude 150hp for 1200.00 is this a fair price

Looking at NADA shows all the 1988 150 models listing at $410. Then throw in the cost of the rebuild and $1200 may look like a fair price. Get some kind of warranty and don't make the mistake of letting the boat sit in the driveway the entire warranty period. I've seen people do this and then take the boat out for the first time after the warranty was expired and have a problem, sadly no coverage.

NADA is useless in this situation. i would easily pay 1200 for a fully rebuilt.

ok thanks guy i think i am going to purchase i talked to a friend of mine you who stopped working for this company and remembers rebuilding this outboard
