Yours is newer than mine so you would have to figure out the model number yourself. As far as the serial number it is four digits. For example 2475.

Here is a model number for a force 85Hp for 1989
853X9H, or it could look like this one, 0C858F9D

The serial number is actually a production number. Is it worth putting insurance on a motor that old?

Hmmm....thanks!
so what d'you think?
Would
853X9J be valid? or 0C858F9E perhaps?

Well as it costs no more for the insurance and means I get 500 or so for it if anything happens I would say yes!

I am having the boat valued anyway as I got it cheap at an auction - so whatever the valuation says the engine is worth I should see back.

Thanks for the help guys!

I spoke to the old owner today and he gave me
630518 - 1. However I found this on the head so I don't recon that's the proper no. as if you changed the head you'd change the serial no. - more likely a part no?

Thanks again!
