Not sure if you guys saw this or if I missed it but the Ole Gal was retired earlier this month, Sad to see her go.

USS Enterprise carrier taken out of active service | Fox News

She will be replaced of course by this

USS Enterprise (CVN-80) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Very happy that the US Navy has decided to carry on the great tradition of the name Enterprise. The new Carrier looks to be as formidable as her namesake, hopefully over time she will gain the same incredible reputation as her namesake did, and her namesake before her.

Something I learned today,

"Enterprise was beginning her voyage home from the Persian Gulf when the September 11 attacks were carried out. Without orders, the carrier returned to the waters off Southwest Asia near the Persian Gulf, outrunning her escorts."

What an amazing platform, the most formidable ship in the world.

... intense.

They are amazing. I've only been on a small one, the modern carriers have to be amazing to walk through ... for a month. Rest well Big E.
