Hey folks. New here, but not to boating. Currently have a go fast outboard but the kids wanna go fishing now, not skiing, etc. Looking for any info or experience with center consoles like a Paramount or Rabco 21'. Not considering new at this point so info on some of the older models would be better. From what I have seen, there's not alot of differences thorugh the years, but I am still researching these two hulls. I like the fact that they are both capable of 60+ mph with 200 hp and are rated for even more. I know the Paramount is a "pad v" and I like that feature as my current hull is, as well. Heading offshore is not a big need from this hull as our fishing will be mostly inshore in S. Louisiana. I'm not sure about the Rabco 21 CC, though. Is it a pad v also? The pics I've seen of the transom shows it to be almost flat...not even a v in the back??? Also, are there any other CC's that I'm not considering here as far as CC fishing boats that are capable of a little speed?

Thanks in advance for your help and advice!

well I'm a CC guy but around here sometimes I fell like, as mark Twain put it, as out of place as a Presbyterian in Hell. Just kidding. Lots to learn around here.
This will challenge your search: CC are made for practical boating, such as fishing, not for speed. You are focused on speed, I guess you have some bass boat genes? Anyway, look into the flats boats and the "bay boat" design by the CC manufacturers, such as Sea Hunt, carolina Skiff, Key West. They have lower freeboard, less rise, etc.

I can certainly see how you've come to that conclusion, but my focus is on a fishing rig. I am, however, a speed freak and therefore want to consider this in my choice of platforms. I realize that a CC will not run with my current boat and I would never expect it to anymore than I would run a boat hard with kids aboard. That being said, yes, a bass boat could serve both purposes, but it will not lend itself well to fishing with 2 adults and 4 kids (our max load). A bay boat would/could be a good choice, but anything with "bay" in the wording seems to tack a surcharge on the price tag nowdays and I'm working with a limited budget. That's why I've landed on these two hulls as the most likely contenders in filling my needs. I just want to be faster than my buddies in their fishing rigs so we beat them to the "spot"....:D
