Re: Fast Start" feature
QuikStart runs for 5 seconds whenever you start the engine, no matter what; It is built into the powerpack. This advances the timing for cold starts.
QuikStart stays active until the engine water reaches 96 degrees or until the engine reaches 1100 RPM whichever comes first.
I would service the thermostats first, then recheck the temperature switch that has two wires, one white with a black stripe - that is the control for QuikStart.
To disable QuikStart, you disconnect the black w/white striped wire and ground the powerpack end of the wire to the engine block.
You also have a shift assist switch that literally shuts off three cylinders when you shift out of forward gear. If that is not set correctly, it will drive you nuts. The switch is located behind the shift lever at the engine. You can disable the shift assist by disconnecting the black wire to test, but be careful, it is much harder to shift under load without it.
