fast strike

I'm buying a 1990 Johnson Fast Strike and was wondering what to expect from it always had a Merc. Are these dependable motors it runs great and real strong.

Well....we assume (hope) youre talking about a 60 degree 150 or 175. However (dont ya just love it when theres a "however" involved?) the first ones were built in 1991.<br /><br />Now, that could be good or bad news.<br /><br />The good news would be that the motor youre looking at is newer than you think. Congrats!<br /><br />The bad news is that if it indeed a 1990 then its probably a crossflow. A very good design but not anything like a 60 degree looper.<br /><br />A model number will tell all.<br /><br />Good luck!
