Fastwin tipped over and now won't fire.

Hello, I have a 62 Fastwin mounted on a silly small boat called a Water Wasp (1972). I had it running poorly the other day, and during the whole process I stupidly tipped the thing over. It was upside down for about two minutes. I have since removed plugs and pulled the engine through gently and cleaned the fuel system. It's not interested in firing now, even with a little coaxing from starting fluid, so I'm assuming I've messed up the ignition system. I'm guessing this has points, and they're hidden below the flywheel. Is that right, and if so is there any trick to accessing them? And what should I do when I get there? :) Are there more things I should do to try and make this run again?
On a second note, before tipping it over I couldn't get it to run well at low rpms. That's not a huge surprise, as when I did a quick carb rebuild I noticed the low speed needle had a nice little bend near the tip. Can I straighten it accurately, or can I buy a new needle, or can I even buy a new or rebuilt carb somewhere?
Thanks a ton for all your help!

Never use starting fluid on an outboard. It has no lubricant and outboards need it. I would pull the flywheel and check your ignition system over good. Make sure the coils are in good shape and no cracks. All motor that age will have bad coils, unless they've been replaced. It sounds like you may need a new needle for your carb, if it's bent.

Thanks! I'll pull the flywheel and see what I find. Where could I find a straight low speed needle? I don't see such a thing on iboats or ebay. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

More than likely it's just the points being wet. Blow them out with compressed air. Being that it was running poorly prior to that, might be a good idea to install new points & condensers, and maybe coils, too, if the look bad. Very rarely have I had one of those coils go bad that didn't look the part...
