I beleive I have a faulty thermo switch as once the motor has ran for about 5 min it loses spark and the thermo switch has one side that runs from the ignition and the other goes to the amplifier once it dies the switch has lost spark on the amp side, but not the ignition but the powerhead is barely warm to the touch and the hot light up front has never lit, so I was going to replace it but I am having trouble finding it. If brp isn't making a replacement part then can I wire that direct and change the switch to an actual temp guage and mout it up front?

on this site click 1968->55->55873r then click on the powerhead group #'s 91, 92, and 97 are the thermo switch assy and terminals

however on iboats the only thing i can find are thermostats or thermostat kits, does someone know if it has another name for it now?

Well I figured it out after referring to the wiring diagram, one side of the thermo switch should run to the choke and it is currently running to the amp all the thermo switch does is keep it choked until it warms up then grounds and disengages the choke, instead whoever had wired it before me didn't have it running to the choke so i didn't wire it that way. Well problem solved.
