Being a brand new user to XP Home, I am beginning to think I should go on a course for it as it seems I have a thousand questions on it. Some I have figured out but others????

Here is my latest question. Is there anyway I can move the favorites(they are in Internet Explorer,Home Page, Google, Etc)to my desk top? I guess I am so use to having them at my finger tips on Windows 98 that I miss it. Or can I move it somehow to the start up? Just a thought!

Thank you Sir! You made my day BoatBuoy. No more questions for a while. I also thought I might be able to go into and change the appearance of XP to make it look like Windows 98 but didn't try. That was going to be my last resort but now I don't have to. :) :)

Crap...........Didn't work BoatBuoy. When I open Explorer(or IE) and find favorites then right click on it, a tab pops down with this:
Standard buttons
Address Bar
Links
Lock the tool bar
Of course they all have check marks beside them which they should have. I guess I am doing something wrong??????

There is a way to create a favorites menu in the start menu. It may be of use to you. Right click on the start menu and click properties. Click the customize button next to the start menu radio button. A new window will appear. Click on the Advanced tab, and select favorites from the list.

I misunderstood. I thought you wanted to move some favorite links to the desktop, not the "Favorites" selection.

To do that, open Explorer and navigate to Local Disk (C:)\Documents and Settings\youruserid . Drag the Favorites folder to desktop to move it. Hold down Ctrl and drag it to simply copy it to desktop.

No problem BoatBuoy. It probably was how I asked the question to begin with. You know how it is sometimes....you know what you want to ask but sometimes it comes out different.
