Let me first say that I L-O-V-E this boat. I bought this 1964 Jetstar a couple of years ago. I actually have an old thread on this website with all of the pictures I took when I got it home. It was a real case of love at first sight with me. Unfortunately I didn?t document the restoration work I did on it. I basically rebuilt it from the bottom up. Well last weekend I did something awful to her. You see, I had to move her to an electric-only lake where I have a small cabin. I removed the outboard, the windshield, and the original ?rope? steering wheel. I need a little bit of moral support from the ?Starmada?. Please tell me I have not opened a Pandora?s box of negative Starcraft karma. As I removed the motor and strapped on the trolling motor I couldn?t help but think ?man, this boat is made to FLY?. No more zipping around the lake or river. No more boaters chasing me down on the water just to say ?hey, nice boat?! I guess we will call this her retirement. She will live out the rest of her days gently bobbing around under her electric power. Maybe she will enjoy the quiet. God knows I ran her hard, and she never failed to answer the call of the throttle. So what say you? Is Mr. Schrock turning over in his grave?
??.I should mention before you pass judgment, the reason I moved her and converted her to electric is I just bought an 18 foot Supersport V5!
You guys didn?t think I had lost my mind and lost the Starcraft fever, did you?
Here are a couple of pictures of her current state. I will upload some videos of her running under outboard power when I get to work tomorrow.
