Feeling a little guilty....

Let me first say that I L-O-V-E this boat. I bought this 1964 Jetstar a couple of years ago. I actually have an old thread on this website with all of the pictures I took when I got it home. It was a real case of love at first sight with me. Unfortunately I didn?t document the restoration work I did on it. I basically rebuilt it from the bottom up. Well last weekend I did something awful to her. You see, I had to move her to an electric-only lake where I have a small cabin. I removed the outboard, the windshield, and the original ?rope? steering wheel. I need a little bit of moral support from the ?Starmada?. Please tell me I have not opened a Pandora?s box of negative Starcraft karma. As I removed the motor and strapped on the trolling motor I couldn?t help but think ?man, this boat is made to FLY?. No more zipping around the lake or river. No more boaters chasing me down on the water just to say ?hey, nice boat?! I guess we will call this her retirement. She will live out the rest of her days gently bobbing around under her electric power. Maybe she will enjoy the quiet. God knows I ran her hard, and she never failed to answer the call of the throttle. So what say you? Is Mr. Schrock turning over in his grave?

??.I should mention before you pass judgment, the reason I moved her and converted her to electric is I just bought an 18 foot Supersport V5! :) You guys didn?t think I had lost my mind and lost the Starcraft fever, did you?

Here are a couple of pictures of her current state. I will upload some videos of her running under outboard power when I get to work tomorrow.

I love the color combo! I bet she's happier buzzing about with the troller than sitting on her trailer.
I bet there are a few guys here that would love to get their hands on that windshield if you never plan on replacing it!

Thanks for all the support guys! I knew you all would understand.

Barato, I had already considered that, believe it or not! I went so far as to read the HOA covenants and they already have that covered. They dont limit the size but there is no wake allowed. Bummer.

As an outsider looking in, I for one think you've abandoned her and appropriate punishment will ensue, thanks to "karma".

She gets "a little bit older" and you decide to put her out to pasture. Tsk, tsk, tsk. You might want to start looking around at area "rest homes", as I'm sure now that you've done this, "karma" will be convincing your family that "it's the right thing to do" much sooner than previously needed.

i think he can make appropriate atonement with the Tin Gods by throwing LOTS of $ into that V5 he just bought. and take any family members who think he's ready for the rest home for a 30mph ride in 2' chop.....

Now that is funny. At least she is in good company. Check out this photo:
