As I listen to the tributes today I find myself feeling rage at the events of that day. Pearl Harbor and D-Day, (both events before my time) invoke feelings of sadness and pride. The more I recall/hear about 9/11 the madder I become. Is that weird? Am I the only one??

I don't think I really believe it actually happened, still seems like a bad dream. When I deal with it as I should, it gets me :| :| :| :'(

The other thing it always brings to mind is that I am proud of what I told my kids that day. I sat them down and said, "Don't EVER let anyone try and justify or explain what these scumbags did. There is no explanation, there is no understanding, this was pure evil." I am sure you all guessed as much . . .

Additionally I have been to ground zero. The feelings invoked there were that of an overwhelming sadness and loss. Standing there, reading the names of those taken on that day was one of the most heart wrenching experiences of my life. That coupled with reading the tributes scrawled over the site by loved ones and visitors ........................made for an emotional visit that is forever etched in my memory.

Been there too LT. Hhhhhhhh . . . Did you go to the Church?

I also stayed once in the Marriott that is no more, probably 1999 or so. That hangs with me too as I stood in the Towers' shadows and spent the night there.

Still have trouble juxtaposing grief (feelings) and cold, logical analysis (thinking) of why it happened, what to do about it and how to prevent it ever happening again. I guess that is the Liberal contrasting with the Conservative in me.

Oddly enough, I don't feel angry about it but I do think we underestimated our enemy and too many of us still do. Anger makes people make mistakes and grief makes people too likely to do nothing.

I try hard to avoid feeling like a victim in favor of thinking like a warrior.

I have sadness and anger. Watching some of the news brings back the feeling of disbelief, then the anger, then the sadness of it.
Just hope that we do whatever we can so this never happens again.
God Bless America!

A great number of the American public is Ho-HUM. Some do not believe it happened. Some believe it was all a Republican ploy.

I find it interesting how some, many in the media, have taken a chance to interject their political feelings on a day comemorating an event that should have crossed party lines. They didn't strike a democrat, or republican, or socialist, liberal, conservative they stuck Americans.

My anger lies in those who selfishly attempt to marginalize, mitigate, deflect, blame, prostolitize, capitalize, position, gain, influence, or undermine, what should be a uniquely personal event for each American. We should all reflect on our friends taken, injured, or impacted and how we can support our country in a time of war. Anger and rage are only bad when misdirected. We should never forget how we felt 5 years ago, and remember to remain vigilant. Freedom isn't free.

God bless and embrace all those who were taken during the attacks. We should not forget their lives were taken, not lost or sacrificed. We know who did it, and a cave should be the only place they can hide.

I am still extremely angry and will probably never get over those feelings.

I am also sad when I consider those who have accepted it and preach tolerance.

Furthermore, I am militant about it.

I can only hope that I am aboard the next plane that is hijacked by someone threatening with a box-cutter.
