I was reading the thread "how far is too far..." and got me curious to how much everyone pays to get out on the lake or river.
Here in Lubbock it costs $5/person and $5 for your boat. Making it $15 for my wife newborn(free for now), myself, and the boat. Back home in Victoria it was $8 a car with/without your boat. Kind of stinks for having to drive either 30min or an hour and still have to pay so much. So just wondering what ya'll pay to enjoy the water

$5-10 per launch depending on where.. Normally, I only use NYS launches which is $7 or something close per vehicle.. Couple private ramps I've used charge about the same... NYS empire passport ( not a good example for TX ) will pay for itself easy if you visit NYS parks a lot

In my area it's $2-$5 to launch and park, depending on what lake.

Given the amount the state has spent on improvements to the facilities, that doesn't seem too bad.

2-4 per trip military and 4-8 civilian at a military run park here, other lakes in the area are 6 per day or 30 for a yearly pass. I keep my boat in dry storage at the military park and it's 20 per month. The 20 a month covers park/ramp fees.

Daily rate for boat / car is $10 at my local lake - however, I buy an annual pass for $90. County run parks/launches.

I am OK with that amount.

Free into the reservoir with my disabled veteran license plates and no launch fee. :) One good thing about Colorado.

We usually camp when we go to the lake so it's free to launch but the other times we go for the day I buy a yearly pass for $30 that covers all corp of engineer ramps which is what we typically use. The $30 pass pays for itself really quick with ramp fees being $3.

Re: Fees for the lake or river

Here in Georgia, I pay $18.75 for an annual day pass for access to all GA state parks - This is with a senior and veteran discount. I also have a free lifetime senior fishing license. It all came with a cost, I had to pay full price for years until I got too old to pay. :joyous:

In addition to my state pass/fishing license, I have a free annual day pass I use at Corp of Engineer lakes/ramp. To get a free COE pass, I take an approved annual boating safety free online course and show the certificate when I apply. I could get an OF COE lifetime pass for $10, but I figure an annual safety course refresher is a good idea. This is special program on Lakes Lanier and Allatoona only that came about after Usher's step-son was killed, the deaths of two young brothers and a LEO - All four caused by impaired/unsafe boaters on Lake Lanier and Allatoona.

Both the state and COE passes are $30 for you youngins, $60 a year. Daily launch fees, no pass, run 3, 4 or 5 bucks a day per vehicle, state or COE.

If you go out often, look into the annual passes.

Free-$5 per launch, most of the free launches are unsupervised and frequented by thieves... making it worth the $5 for a supervised privately owned launch ramp.

$0 to $7. most are free or under 5.

Don't know what it is in a state park, because I'm too cheap to pay the admission fee.

What's a supervised launch ramp? :)

The only ones I worry about are the ones on the reservations.

I can't imagine paying per person. Then having to pay a person :) to monitor if all persons have paid.

I am staying in Ohio. City ramps with full facilities are $4-5 per launch.
Most other ramps are free. And Local Police patrolled.
They commonly sit in the parking lot to catch speeders on the adjacent state route.
If the parking area is full, Vehicles without trailers can get Tickets/Towed.
Some Ohio State Parks have admission fees, but also have separate free access and parking at the ramps.

No launch fees and free parking to get on the river. Only place I've ever paid to launch was Smith Mountain Lake in VA. That cost $5. East Lynn Lake in WV is a coe lake. You can launch and park for free. Same with Summersville Lake.

Private ramps are about $10, but there are several free public ramps which serve well. Actually the only time I used the private ramp was when the fog was too thick to go to the public ramp, the ice was forming, and the private ramp is just across the cove.

Clamming licenses are free for Seniors. I still get to pay $10 for a few more years. No saltwater fishing licenses yet in NJ.

Michigan offers a $10.00 tag/plate that allows access to any state park/launch, so its a no brainer to just buy that when tags are due.

No fee for launching. $5.00 per vehicle entrance fee and one day use permit to state parks where the majority of our lakes in New Mexico are located. Vehicle includes car or truck plus camp trailer or boat and trailer. Overnight camping permits range from $8.00 to $18.00 per vehicle per day depending on amenities. The $8.00 to $18.00 is total cost and not an addition to the $5.00 day use permit fee.

Generally $7.00 a day. One ramp is $20.00, another has sliding fee by boat length. Then there is the free ramp at the end of our road, though there are no piers and no parking available.
