I had to refill my compass and fell a few ounces short.Anyone have any factual info on what to put in if I dont want to buy a whole bottle of compass oil.The compass oil is weird stuff. It is a very thin oil that dries up as you rub it together on your fingers with no oily residue.Charlie

Depends on the maker, Charlie.

Ritchie compasses use odorless mineral spirits. You can buy it at any drug store.

What came out... Ritchie is sending me a new "capsule"... when I get it I'll know what it is and if I have to fill it.
