felpro overhaul gasket sets

i have a volvo 151c ......im having the top end and lower end rebuilt.....i want to replace the gaskets with fel pro, i cannot find a place to find the correct part #s for my felpro gaskets...i tried napa <br />i tried on line, no were can i buy a felpro gasket set for my engine..........this whole marine thing is crazy <br /><br /><br />i did find these nubers some how i cant evan remember how...........head gasket part # 17000......................head set- 17200..................int/exhaust- 17304..................

You're working on a red headed Step-child......<br /><br />There's a Good Chance that Fel-Pro Never made gaskets for it.........<br /><br />Go to Volvo....

Like Bondo says, it's not just a marine thing, it's those 4cyl, OHC, Volvo engines that's most of the problem. Wait till you find out what a distributor cap costs.

50 bucks got one......are these engines any good ...are there any strengths to them/weaknesses ...i like good news .......are the volvo dealer gaskets any good ...do they have a premium line or somthing you could ask for ...are they rebadged brand ....

Depends on who you talk to. They are not a common engine like a Chevy or Ford, parts are VERY expensive, they are very picky about tuneups, and the timing belt, they have no choke and are hard to start at times. When they run good, they are good engines, but that is not always the case.<br />

They are what Volvo sells, and they warrant the engine, think about it. Would they use gaskets that would fail every time you started the thing?<br />

No. They have marine gaskets for their marine engines.

i baught an electronic conversion for my distributor...i hope this will help..........any advice on anything ,when having my lower end rebuilt do to hydro lock in cyl # 4

ya your funney i baught a rust bucket boat i have to rebuild engine simple ,,,trying to do it right the first time that is all.....setting up systems.........im not a machinest ......now im wondering if when having my overhead cam engine head done ,if i should have the lifters/springs replaced im having him replace all the valve guides..

Have you looked at the valve adjustment procedure on that engine yet?
