Feul Tank Installation?

Any suggestions as to putting in a below deck feul tank. The above deck tank now fits in the area under the rear seats. Would it make sense to try and cut out the stringers and box in an under floor tank that would have more capacity than the present 25 gallon above deck tank? Safety is my concern.

I would avoid cutting your stringer to accomodate your tank, they are an important part of the structural design of the hull. There is a large variety of plastic tanks (Tempo is the type I have), that can fit into your hull. If you move things around you are changing the center of gravity and balance, be carefull. You need to think this one through.

What is the width of your tank and the area between your stringers. If you needed to, you could box in the tank within your stringers, but I wouldnt cut or remove them. If anything I would just go and buy a new tank that fits correctly.

There are also big saddle style tanks that fit the sides under the gunnels. Don't forget to check them out!

Trying to load pics so you can see the stringers. Doubt there is enough room between them. Would have to install two very long tanks to get capacity. Is that possible?
