I need to know how that rough recessed non slip texture is achieved in boat decks. Want to replace the ply underneath and expect to be scrapping the glass that is on top if it is solidly connected to the floor. I'd think they will be. Even if it can be saved I would need to match the edges where I cut the old out. Lifting the entire one piece cap and deck at once on this particular boat is not rational. Any Techniques Ya'll like to use?

If noone knows, I could always just use that nonslip sand paint for floors and do the whole thing. I'd like to avoid that though. Thanks

you will never match it. the pattern was in the mold when the cap was made. if the surface is still good, take the complete liner off. or it will always look like a patch job.

Thanks TD. The only way to get the whole deck out is to cut around the edges of the gunwale. I think that MIGHT to diff since it has a recessed channel for water flow all the way around it to help water get back to the scupper hoses. It'd be tough to re glass something small and inverted/concaved like that. Maybe I need to cut an inch further in than that channel so I'd be glassing a flat surface later. Then after it was smooth I could repaint/texture the entire deck.

the dirty nasty way to do it on the cheap.....is re gell it with a roller......it will leave bumps that are like a non slip.....you can also add a sand like sunstance to increace the non slip effect
