I am continuing to restore my 1984 Wellcraft Elite bowrider. My latest effort is to glass the vinyl coverered "hatch" in the rear over the engine which runs the width of the boat. Its the light tan padded vinyl pc in the picture holding the rear seat cushions.

Its about 7' long and 9" wide and @ 9" front (its a 90deg angle) It is attached to the rear with 2-12" piano hinges and sits on the front. In intend to put 2 (6x9" or so) hatches in it.

My main concern is strength. It is walked on and needs to support @250 lbs?

I planned on using 3/4" ply and 2 layers of biax and 1 layer of 6-10 once fabric. i am using epoxy resin.

I'd like to make it as light as possible and would prefer to get away fro the 3/4" ply.

Is that going to hold? Ideas would be appreciated
