i think this has been asked before here!! so i will ask it again and SORRY for doing so!!!!!!
i got a 1979 19ft open bow with a 140hp inboard / outboard omc 400 i get that right???
had the floor replace once was told they would replace all dryrot well they did not do that!!!
i am haveing to replace the wood on the inside for the transom (dryrot)
to get to that the floor had to come out!! i am at the point were it is all rooten wood is out!!!! gone no more !!!!!! so here is what the transom was
gellcoat-on the outside, then 1 layer of plywood and then fiberglass layer, then 2 more layers of plywood and a coating of resin!!!!!!!
i got 3 layers of marine board cut to size for the transom i am planning to put it back thae way it all came out!!!! but this time all the wood i plan to seal it all in fiberglass so no water can get to the wood including the new floor
at this point i am truly in to deep!!!!!! cost wize it is killing me my wife wants to use what is left for a bond fire and a winne roast and i am that winne
epoxy or poylester resin i was told form a guy at napa i should use the epoxy for the transom and the i can use the cheap polyester for the rest of the job!!!!!
any one here have a better way or right way that will still be cheap to do???
did not think you could use two differant types of resin like this
thanks for any and all HELP!!!!! Bill
