So.....
I get my mower back from my buddy, and it abruptly broke....hmmmm...LOL
Pawls for the pull start were jacked, so I fixed and got it to work.....redid the throttle to get it to idle down....idles REALLY slow for shifting!!
Just got back from my buddies structural steel shop to chop the snout off the original crank, and to trim up the piece that mates the mower blade to the crankshaft....
Well, that's why he's structural steel....and not a fab shop.....we had a few beers, and he was ready to cowboy this thing apart, and get it mated....problem is, the two pieces are a bit out of true.....as in they weren't totally plumb with eachother when we (he) welded it all up.....using roughly 180 amps at that....WAY too much for what i needed, and that's what probably pulled it out of whack..
What I'm probably going to have to do, is true it up in a lathe....or a "ghetto lathe".....chuck it up in a grinder, and take a file to it to get it true again.
Story of my life....his shop, (dads) didn't want to be a jag....he's wanting to leave to get home, ...yada yada yada.....
Oh well....pics to follow....
