I have two holes in the side of my alumacraft that looks to be about3/16. It is well above waterline and was probably drilled to hold an accessory by the previous owner. No leak concern but i would like to fill or plug them with something that looks good. Not just a bolt and nut. Dont have a rivet gun that big. Any suggestions???

Re: fill a small hole

you may want ot try some JB weld or similar 2-part epoxy filler. I used it to fill some similar holes on my aluminum boat and it worked great, plus its grey color blends in fairly well with the aluminum. I overfilled the holes slightly, then went back and sanded them flush with the hull after they dried and it worked great and cost all of $3, or so.

Buy or borrow a rivet gun. The cheap ones are about $10 and you will find plenty of use for it if you own an aluminum hull. Or buy some stainless steel bolts and grind most of the head off until the screwdriver slot vanishes.

I don't think that a machine screw-and-nut fill looks so bad.
