Hi guys, I have purchased a 1988 125HP Force, I want to change the lower unit oil but for some reason it appears that the Fill/vent port and the drain port are side by side? I have had many outboards and outdrives and all of them had these ports --One on top and one on bottom never side by side this is confusing unless I'm not looking at the right ports but they appear to be. I have a service CD but it doesn't have any diagrams from the starboard side (where the ports are)
Thanx for any suggestions.

The one closest to the boat is the fill and the one to the left of it is the vent.Remove both to empty and fill. Fill the LU through the front one and wait till oil starts to come out the vent.

A better way of filling the lower, as it introduces little air into the oil, is to fill via the drain port.

Remove the drain, fill and vent ports. Let the leg drain and then pump in oil through the drain port until it comes out the vent. Install vent and fill plugs and then drain plug.

Make sure you do this with the engine vertical.

Drain is way low, under the bullet shape towards the front. Mine is an allen head screw.
