Tim, Normally you tilt the motor all the way up, boat level, and remove the plug on the resvoir. Fill it with auto trans fluid (ATF), until some runs out the fill hole. You may need to bleed the unit, by running it up and down a couple of times. now leave it up for a few minutes to let the air bubble out and refill the resvoir. Repeat as necessary.
