Finally??

When I was in high school, around 1950, I was gofer at the local airport.

We had an Aerocar based there. It was a lousy aircraft and a worse car, but it was a flying car.

Given the world's public skill at staying alive and avoiding killing others on highways I have little hope for everyman in any aircraft. Too many regulations to follow and too much training required. Can you see a bunch of half drunk, half stoned teens in one of those things?

As for Moeller, he has been promoting his machine for years and years. Great sci-fi, no cigar.

Re: FINALLY! A Flying Car

I've seen one before on the science channel that is a perfect working flying car, it looked like a european super car. The builder would be more then happy to built you one for 200 grands, I think. But, like JB said it would be a logistic nightmare. Mass production will never happen. Now a car with auto pilot is a lot more realistic. Just imagine you're dead tired or sloppy drunk, can't barely stand straight. All you have to do is climb in, tell the car your destination and then pass out on the seat. DWI will be a thing of the past. 8)

And what happens if it runs out of gas or has a crash? We now will have to look both ways and up before we can cross :-(
