Finally figured out why it was overheating, it was between the cases

I have a 02 Glastron GX 205 that had an overheated motor. Volvo Penta 5.0 GL-E with SX-M. I replaced it but my temps were going up over 175 and then bounce or stay hot. I finally pulled the outdrive and determined that the exhaust and the intake water were mixing. I taped over the low intakes and blew down the intake passage (not my proudest moment but it worked) where you could hear the air going out through the exhaust passages. I thought it might have cracked from not being winterized right. Once the lower unit was separated from the upper case it became clear. The rectangular rubber plug split and rode up the the pipe that connects the lower to the upper units. I'm not sure how often this happens but I thought I post it for other folks because I have not run across it before.
