I needed a scissor mount for an old Minn Kota that I have kept for a long time. I ran into a guy who was selling his bow mount and so I bought trolling motor, mount and all, he traded up to the remote control type and was happy to get this one out of his garage. I have it bolted down to the bow already and will move the battery up front this evening. I guess I will have to install one of those little pedestal seats up front now too. Is it possible to lay another layer of flooring on top of what is there to make sure it is strong enough for a pedestal seat? This is in an old Star Craft center console boat that has flooring that creeks a little under the carpet. I know that most of you would remove the carpet and rebuild the flooring but I'm getting to where I need to do more fishing and a little less working on boats for awhile.

nice! Little less work and a little more fishing sounds like words to live by :) Should have gotten a new trolling motor today too but when I checked the tracking number it said "Status: Train Derailment" so who knows when it's coming. Again, congrats on the motor and mount.

The trolling motor I bought is a 40 AT Minn Kota and I have it all mounted now and ready to go. I bought the power pedestal and the pin base for the seat today and had an extra seat that came with a used boat last year. So I got everything all set up for about $235. I found a solid place in the flooring and turned the base upside down and bolted it down with lag screws. It seems to be pretty solid now. I hope to be on the water tomorrow. We have had a lot of cold weather and rain in our area so now I'm hoping that it isn't too windy when it warms up. I am going to fish the power plant lakes until the water temperature gets warm enough in the clear lakes for the fish to become active.
