Yep, gonna cross brace when I get the rest of the poles up. Like 7 more for porch and deck. But the interesting thing about working by myself is I did not argue with myself one time about how to do it.

Yes rbh that thing has been a real step saver not to mention the back. Had to spend about 800.00 dollars on it to get operational but it is well worth it. Would still like to find a wiring diagram for the bucket though.

Is that height the flood plain where you live?! Maybe you can contract with NASA to hand parts to the space station from your roof :D

That bucket truck is one awesome tool to have! I wished for one many times during my addition.

But the interesting thing about working by myself is I did not argue with myself one time about how to do it.

I normally need the 3rd party to settle my disputes with myself.

I have one for the t40c, but not the A"s or the EU"s. Call an altec distribuitor as they handle telsta now.

CN your right that is the Ms levy. If I stand on my tippy toes I can see over it from the floor, almost... Lokey this just about 4 feet above where they told me to put to be out off the flood plane. Flood ins. is not a necessity at this stage. I don't think, but you never know.

Having a house that high off the ground, I fear I would be too tempted to try my hand at building an elevator. Yep, I'm sure I would.. I'm already thinking about how I could build one. :)

Re: Finally got a good start on new cabin

lokey we are already looking into the elevator thing Ms T said she will not carry groceries up that many steps and she also wants a toilet on the ground. All I said was YES Mam. I will get around to that later too I guess. If you know where I can find some plans for elevators let me know.. Rbh I dont know the difference between the A Ts EC mr or the wths. All I know is this one was cheap and it does the job for now. If you could shed a little light on Bucket trucks for me. This one has General Electric. Seen the Altec but they are Big.

Re: Finally got a good start on new cabin

There should be a ID tag around were the toggle switches are on the base turret, "I think yours is an telsta A28" but I am not sure, the tag will give you the model and serial number.
when you find it call the altec dealer with the details and he can get you the schematic.
just out of curiosity whats wrong with it?

Re: Finally got a good start on new cabin

Those pics reminds me of the community at Tunica Cut-off. There's even an Airstream up on stilts over there. Several of those houses have jon boats or canoes on their upper decks as a plan B. Not a bad idea especially since they're inside the levee.

If'n it were mine I would sooooo put a slide on that thing! Like from the front door to my truck. "I'm off to work honey! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"SMACK!:D

Re: Finally got a good start on new cabin

rbh the only thing wrong with it is I cant kill the Onan from the Bucket. I can crank it from the bucket When the Master key is on but cant turn it off. Emergency kill does not work. Not a real problem but it would save me some gas when I'm gonna be in one place for a while.Found out the other day emergency down works too . Ran out of gas 28' feet up and it eased me right on down. Not even sure if its a good or bad on cylinders seals to have it up and not running. I dont have steps built yet so this is how I get up an down. I had to go borrow a 40' ladder the other day mine is only 20' and not tall enought to get up there. CN grand kids have already ask for a slide to the Lake. Not to sure about that???..

Re: Finally got a good start on new cabin

You may get this a lot, but I've never asked anyone, so I have to ask. Coming from somewhere which isn't doomed to flood, I drove to the NC coast and noticed plenty of homes built on these stilts and thought.. "Nature is telling them not to live here and they refuse to take a hint." I couldn't imagine risking stuff which I worked 1/2 my life to own to an eventual flood, or earthquake, or regular tornados and hurricanes. What made you buy that property instead of simply not living in a 20' flood zone? Why not live where your family is safe?

A fireman's pole would cooler. Or maybe both.

Re: Finally got a good start on new cabin

Good mornin AT-
if your truck has a generator, (you did say generator right?) there will be a couple of relays in were the wires terminate, check to make sure a wire hasnt worked itself loose first.
If I could remember how to scan a document in I would do it from my book for the t40c, as I bet the schematic is almost the same.
But I will have to wait for the wife to get home from work around 5.30pm PST
shoot me over your e-mail address and I will get it over to you this evening.
