The summer is gone but the chieftain is home. I started the refurbish. first was the name change. better to be the producer than the product. The new seats , minor mounting changes required. I got to the fuel tanks, you can see how they are mounted, big tanks . removing the carpet putting in marine vinyl. There will be more pics as the changes take place.

Fuel tanks look good. will that be seaman man??? the chair I trust is one you are removeing?? That one won't take well to a marine enviroment. Should be a fun project for the off season .

Nice big boat there:D

I haven't seen fuel tanks mounted under the gunwales like that. One on each side would balance out well. The cabin looks great.

Post some more photos when you get a chance, that is one nice rig.

yes there is a tank on both sides. 18US gals 15 imperial per tank . lots of cruising can be done on 30 gals .

Commonly called saddle tanks...Like em! My 18 ft IMP boat had em..I should have gutted that boat instead of selling her..

WELCOME ABOARD!!!!
Quite a few Chiefs around here, I love em myself

I may not know what I am talking about but...

Might you be going along lop sided if one fuel tank is empty and the other full? Spose 18 gallons isn't that much though so prolly wouldn't even notice.

Rock on!

Ballance out easy with a good set of Hydro. Trim Tabs.

It pulls from both tanks at the same time. Out of balance isn't a problem. I wish it had trim tabs.

Re: finally got it home

I stand corrected on the fuel pulling from both tanks at the same time. I found the solonoid which directs the fuel behind the engine mounted to the transom .
