Ok we fixed the floor in my 240 Four Winns Horizon. It has a 7.4l GL with the Cone King. I'm a complete newbie, was a master helms man in the Navy, but this ain't no Frigate.
Everything i'v read says my engine is supposed to hit max revs at 4800 rpm, mine revved and pulled all the way to 6k! It has a 15" X 17 water sports prop. The speedo was broken, but this thing flat booked!!! The engine cams hard. Would the 6k rpm show a engine thats been worked?
The trim indicator isn't working... What is a good practice for trimming the unit? I trimmed down all the way Then came up a little but couldn't really see the angle. Should i time the drive out of the water from down to a certain trim up?
Can anyone post pics of a good trim for after you plane???
Lake Conroe was supper smooth in this rig too!
About the cone, my buddy was at full throttle and backed off to 1/4 throttle, and it seemed to decluch then imediatly grabbed back in gear? Is this normal? Forward and reverse seem to operate flawlesly.
I was really happy that the first time out the boat handled perfecly, i unloaded, docked and loaded the boat pretty darn good!
i'm going to finish fixing some interior pieces now and get on the water before i go to cape town this weekend..
thanks y'all!
