I disconnected the black and yellow sriped wire from the power pack and got spark to the coils, my question is do I need a new ignition switch? It is on a 1974 evinrude 135hp and I was told it doesn't have a seperate kill switch. Also, I had spark to three of the four coils. #1 wasn't firing so I disconnected #3 coil on the power pack and connected #1 there and #1 had spark. Do I need a new power pack? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Gary

Reconnect the wires, disconnect large red connector on port side of engine, if you have spark check ignition switch. Sounds like coil.

Re: Finally got Spark

Where on the engine will the big red wire be? I did not have any spark to the coils before I diconnected the black with yellow striped wire. Once I disconnected it I had spark. If the coil was bad, would it have worked when I connected it to another coil spot on the power pack that had spark, it wasn't firing when hooked to the original spot, but did fire when switched?
