Had it rehubbed along with several other of my 50's OMC props that had spun hubs or bent blades.
My '55 10hp went 22mph on my homemade wood skeeter boat with the 2-blade brass speed prop. My '57 18hp only goes 23 mph on my 12 foot aluminum boat that's rated for a 20hp. I find that 12 foot aluminum boats are NOT nearly as fast as one would expect. A 14 footer is faster from my experience.
F-R, if you're reading this, do you think it is like matches and gasoline to put that speed prop on my 50's 10hp motors if I run them with 24:1 like I always do? I know you've mentioned that they were sometimes bad about beating the wrist pins out. I like the 2-blader and would prefer to keep it on there, but don't want to if it's going to ruin the motor. I'm also going to get my QD-14 out of the house and put the 2-blader on it and see what she'll do. I find that QD-14 to be a darned fast 10hp motor.
