Last summer I did something stupid , I decided to rebuild my old Johnson V4 .

This engine become a real Frankenstein motor .
Got a new crankshaft ( good used )
Found some rods ( on EBay ) 12 + my 4 old ones ( 2 bad ) cleaned them all ... ended with 4 good ones .
New distributor ( used, EBay )
New thermostat house ( new , EBay )
New pistons/rings ( 020 ) Outboard-parts
Nearly all gaskets ( Benren's Wooden Boat and Outboard Page )
Some parts from my Johnson dealer .
Some parts from Joe Reeves , thanks .
+ some parts from different other sources .

And now I finally got to the point were I could try to start it , and guess what happened ... it started
.

First problem , number 4 carburetor barrel flooded > Fixed.
Number 2 , Engine runs to hot > seal between waterpump and water pipe not in place ???
> Fixed .
Number 3 , When checking cooling > engine will not start ??? no spark ( NEW quality coil
from "hung chang" ( or equal ) > purchases a new coil, from Bosch this time > Engine starts , still running
.

Still some work to do , rewiring the whole engine + boat , only using 40 cm of the old wiring system .
When rewiring the electric system I did remove ALL connectors ,solder all cable connections .
Replaced the charging regulator whith this one ,
Hopefully on the water before the weekend .

How to make this looking good , next

Movie ,use "save as" , 3.5 Mb

Still learning .
