subliminal.... I know the feeling... looked at mine early Feb at the boat show..

Bought it a week later. It's apparently on its way North and should be here in the next two weeks and ready to go.

Pretty exciting....start to remember what it was like as a kid on Christmas Eve.:D:eek:

I called the place and the boat might not be ready until NEXT saturday.

Grrr. ;)

Tom Petty was right...the waiting IS the hardest part.

Man, that sucks.... My stomach flips thinking about having that conversation myself.

Fingers crossed that they get it ready sooner....

Well, it isn't the end of the world. The safety class we're required to take is on Monday and Tuesday of next week anyway, so I really wouldn't be going out this weekend anyway.

But I would get drunk and sit in it and make motor noises and pretend to steer it in the driveway...and that's what I'm going to miss. ;)

I had to wait about 5 months to get my boat. It will be worth the wait.

Re: Finally picking my boat up!

Welp, I spoke to my buddy Bryan, the owner of East Coast Marine Services in Limerick PA. What a great guy. And actually, from what I understand, it's one of the best outfitted service shops around.

Anyway, I spoke to him earlier this week about picking my boat up Saturday. He wasn't sure if they'd have time to prep it and get it ready for me, as this is pretty much the time everyone and their brother wants their boats.

But, I spoke to him again yesterday and he told me he personally took my boat down to the pool they have and went thru the checklist. He ran the motor for the break in period, tested out the tranny, etc...basically, put it through its paces as much as a guy could without actually taking it into real water. He said as we spoke last night, the detailers were cleaning it up, and she'll be ready for me to tow home Saturday morning.

WOOT!

How I'm going to get thru today and tomorrow, I have NO idea. ;)

Re: Finally picking my boat up!

Well, yesterday at lunch I wired up the Equinox with the 5 wire trailer harness. I had previously installed a 4 wire, but the trailer has brakes and requires 5, so I had to cut and crimp in the new connector, and then take the 5th wire over to the tail light (backup light). I used butt connectors and then shrink wrapped them, and then started to loom the whole deal, but had to come back to work. So this evening I'll be finishing that install and probably just double checking the bolts on the trailer hitch that I installed about 9 months ago. I've never really used it, so I'll feel better with a little grunting on a wrench to make sure she's on there good.

So that will get me through tonight. Tomorrow, well, I dunno...maybe I'll wash the tow rig so she looks good going down the road with a new boat behind it. ;)

I don't know about NJ but here in NY I was able to take the course online. I just googled online boater safety course and paid like less than $30. Congrats on your new boat !!!

Congrats, nice boat. Next year, get the tow rig painted to match the boat:).
I always get that feeling every spring, like right now.

In NJ, you can take the course online, but then you have to go to a physical location and take the written test, which adds another $30 onto that $30...

...and the kicker is there's no test centers in my area in the near future.

The course I'm taking, though, is not too far from my house and is next Monday and Tuesday, so it isn't too big of a deal.

...and I'm not painting the car orange. ;)
