Finally put the boat in the water

On March 27th I bought a 16 foot Deck boat with a 55 HP Yamaha. Due to one reason or another I didn't get it in the water until Saturday (5/7). It meets the two basic requirements.
1) It did not sink.
2) The OB runs.

I guess I should have realized this based on the water line, but the deck is only 10" - 11" above the water. It just looks a lot different on the trailer vs on the water. So boarding the boat was no problem.

We put it to the test. My 11 year old daughter enjoyed turning, then smashing into our wake. We spent about 4 hours just cruising and never did do any fishing. We all had a good time and are looking forward to the summer.

congrats man! i just now got an old boat my grandfather passed along to me running, and we plan on taking it out this weekend, sure hope it floats lol

Congrats! We found boating to be the a great family bonding activity. My daughter and her boyfriend are 19yo and can't wait to get home from college to go boating & camping with us.

Wish I splashed on Saturday, Good for You. I need to Glass in the new deck before I can hit the water. Weather here has been cool & wet almost every day so far this spring, but this week is dry & in the upper to mid 70's & 80's. Atleast I'll get some work done.

Good for you. Mine's coming out of storage this weekend, won't splash for a couple weeks.
