finally settled in on a boat...need fuel help

Well...I have to say that my quest for a boat has been a long one.
Started with a 1989 Galaxy w/ a 4.3L I/O...yea, found out I got pretty much scammed on that one. Got the boat sold as a parts boat, and didn't lose TOO much money on that deal...GRRR...

Second boat was a 1990 Bayliner Capri w/ a 50hp OB. It was a 17' boat, and it was TINY...very narrow with a REALLY narrow bow. NO space. No ammenities, and had issues with the manual tilt/trim, but I fixed that myself. Got that sold for exactly what I paid for it...

Finally found a 19' 1984 Bayliner Capri with a 120hp Force OB. I'm the second owner of the boat, and I learned the whole history of the boat. It's in fantastic shape. I"m amazed at what a difference two feet make in a boat! WAY more room! Came with a fish finder, front and rear bimini, and a full cabin enclosure, as well as a bad weather top,as well as two new impellers and three new power packs in a box. Didn't cost me any more than my other Capri...go figure.

Anyway, is there a way to double check the mix ratio of the fuel/oil? The guy said 12gal fuel to 1 pint oil. I did a search on google for mix calculators and found a PDF that states that it's almost a 100:1 ratio and that's a bad ratio. The boat purrs like a kitten fat on mommy's milk, and right now it's full of fuel, but I want to make sure he didn't mess me up when I go to refuel and fry it. So is there someplace on the boat that lists the mix? If I bought a maintenance manual, would it have it? My other capri had a force, and it was 50:1. Same?

I know it's nothing special, but here she is...

Thanks!

Run a 50/1 ratio, NOT 100/1.
Good Luck!

I appreciate the info pwilke. Thank you.

But at the same time, that doesn't answer my question. I would REALLY like to know for SURE what I'm supposed to be mixing it at. Sure, if I mix it too rich, it can't hurt it. Will just be boggy and possibly foul plugs. But I want to make sure I'm doing it right.

Thanks.

1 pint to 6 gal.You tank should have a sticker on it somewhere. It will tell you how many gallons you have. Then add that much more oil to make sure it is right.
There is no way to tell what's in there now unless you send it to a lab.
Keep it at 50-1 too much and carbon builds up too little $$$$$$.J
