Hi all,

I finally got my 66 thompson out of the water for the season for the much needed transom and stringer replacement. I just had a few questions, first off, I would like to replace the transom by doubling up two layers of ACX plywood 3/4" thick to make the 1-1/2" transom. Should I put any fiberglass mat between the two pieces of plywood, or just roll on some resin? Second, does anyone have experience with the bondo brand fiberglass resin? Or should I just get the polyester stuff that US Composites is offering?

On to the stringers, I would like to remove them all, but I bought a 30 gallon belly tank and want to replace the center stringer with a partial length center, then but some bulkheads in along with a tube down the middle to drain out any water that may get in. I just don't know where to put the tube. I was also planning on filling all the areas under the floor with flotation foam, so in this case, would any tube be necessary?

Should I use pressure treated 2x stock for the new stringers, plywood, or white oak 8/4 material?

Here are some progress pics so far, tomorrow I will attempt to get that transom out!
