Finally Winterized
I spent the past weekend putting my boat to bed for the winter and believe I followed all the necessary steps but just want to make sure before the weather gets too nasty.

1. Added Stabil fuel stabilizer to approx. 1/4 tank of gas (approx 15 gal). I also added a can of sea foam at the end of the summer.

2. checked the lube in the lower unit. No water appeared to be present.

3. Ran RV storage anti freeze through the muffs and up into the motor.

4. Fogged the motor. Couldn't find the fogging hole my manual refers to so I ended up pulling the plugs and spraying directly into each cylinder and briefly ran the motor while choking on the smoke.

4. Put the outboard all the way down with trim and tilt fingers all the way in. Duct taped a plastic garbage bag around lower unit and prop.

5. Removed electronics and batteries

6. Put more RV anti freeze in the livewell, anchor locker, and bilge. Placed moth balls in several small cups and placed them in any areas with wire concentrations to repel mice.

7. Put supports and cover on and put a plastic tarp over the cover.

8. Jacked up trailer and lowered onto jack stands and removed tires.

Does this sound comprehensive enough to have peace of mind the boat will be OK through the winter? Can anyone think of something I missed.

Helpful thoughts appreciated.

Kevin
