Does anyone have any idea of where I can go to find out which aftermarket controls/cables can be used with a Suz DF115? I have visited various sites (Teleflex and the like) trying to find application guides with no luck. The Suzuki binnacle controls are $400 at the dealer so I would like to explore some options.

Additionally, I have seen some news about a 6yr warranty for the Suzukis in Jan04. Does anyone know where I can get more info on this? Is this a freebee?

Thanx,
FurDuksNFish

Howdy FDNF.

The Johnson 115 4 stroke is the same engine. Check with a Johnny dealer to see what will fit/work.

Good luck. :)

The $500 is for a control box KIT. That includes the box w/power trim switch, key switch, stop switch and 21' harness. A control box itself is $260. You could use a Morse control box, but it is not as good quality as the Suzuki and you will still have to buy all the other stuff.

Thanx, I kinda figured it (the kit) came with everything. My initial question was misleading. What I am looking for is an aftermarket "kit" of equal quality but lower price. I like the Johnson idea, I think I'll check with a dealer today. Anything else will be appreciated.

Does anyone know anything about this 6yr warranty freebee. Suz website has an add for it but it ended in Sept03. There was some posts about it coming back. I would like to get a little more concrete info before I go to the dealer.

Will check back in a day or so.
Thanx, FurDuksNFish

I don't believe the Johnson kit will work as I think they use different electrical harness connections. As far as a 6 year warranty promotion, Suzuki generally does not let the dealers know about the program until mid December. They have run the program every year for quite some time, however we will not know for sure util December.
