Finding Engine Specs

I'm trying to locate some information on the power curve for my new engine so I can properly prop it to hold WOT in the max HP range.

Does anyone know of a source where I could reference the numbers cast on my block to find a HP curve or at least a peak HP RMP? I've had some luck searching some other message boards, but I've gotten conflicting numbers.

I don't have the block numbers with me, but it's a new GM crate 350 with the two piece rear main seal. I know it could have vastly different curves based on the cam and what the engine was built for (car vs. truck). Therefor I know noone can help me with the information provided. I'm simply hoping someone can point me in the direction to look for the answer.

Re: Finding Engine Specs

Your block numbers will tell you nothing if its a crate motor. You need to find out full specs. Probably your best bet is to get in touch with someone who sells gm crate motors. Most likely your local Chevrolet parts dealer. But even they may not be able to help you without having the actual crate motor part number.

Good luck,

The HP is really not going to matter at this point you know how it runs with the old prop and can really only go with trial and error from that point

Unless you go with a hign end prop like the new merc line that has 1" pitch changes you will be stuck with the 17" 19" 21 " ect Or have to have a prop shop work with the cupping to get it just so
