Greetings,
I am new to the forums but i have been reading advice for days now (ha ha). This is my first boat and first boat project so bear with me on questions or answers.
I am looking to put a walk able floor in as well as possibly a deck. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to this project but i am willing to tackle the challenge. The boat is a 14' V hull and that is about all i know about it at this point in time until i receive the title. I did notice some damage on the aluminum transom and i was wondering if this is something that is repairable or if the boat is junk.

(I am trying to post pictures but they keep saying invalid file for some reason)

Any time guys out there that can give me advice on if the transom is repairable or not? I would like to get the project going but not if it's not worth fixing

Looks like a solid platform to start with. That transom definitely needs attention, but you picked about the easiest type of boat to work on. Check some of the other threads, tons of people who have done what you're wanting to.

Looks like the transom most likely needs a replacement, doesn't seem like it'd be that much of a challenge or expense to do so. Looks like a great boat to get fixed up! Don't spend too much time or money until you have that title in hand though, I'd even wait until the title is successfully transferred to your name at DMV

Get that cobbled together mess of plywood and regular steel fasteners OFF the boat, asap isnt soon enough.

Give it a thorough cleaning and repost some more well lit pix.

After the transom mess is removed, and its well cleaned out, more accurate assessment can be made.

It is fairly unlikely to be a lost cause, but it has happened. Depends on its actual condition. We're handicapped viewing limited pix, remotely via the internet.

Hands and eyes on would be better, but you probably dont want 10-50 random people showing up in your garage for a look see...... or at least most wouldnt
