This is my first B3 drive
Took it out Sunday for my first alone drive
at 1000 rmp pushing water I feel a vibration not major just a roughness (might just being not used to the boat)
vibration completely gone at anyother setting
even at WOT 5300 rpm
a friend mentioned that maybe the props cavitate at that setting don't no
question: do the props on this drive ever need to be balanced?
Any ideas

Ayuh,... As a part of a normal rebuild because of damage,... Sure, it's part of the process...

Undamaged props, properly rebuild shouldn't need balancing, just for the sake of balancing...

Sounds like this is a new to you boat. To satisfy your curiosity about the prop, measure to the tip of each blade from a point on the lower housing. Rotate the prop and note any deflection ie. bent. More than an 1/8" will cause a vibration. Balancing will correct any differences.
