It starts at 5:30 am 21 degrees F. I load the boat, my daughter's boyfriend and the truck then head out for the lake. We stop off and buy bait cause we're running late. Get to the ramp, unstrap and back it down. Motor starts but will not run. Oil alarm goes on then off. Finally get the motor warmed up. Now the throttle cable is stuck. After 30 min on the ramp (saw no other boats), I give up and move to the parking lot to attempt repairs. 2 hours later we get the cable moving. Finally, in the water at 10:00. Now the livewell pump is not working. The minnows are getting kinda stale, bail some water into the well. We catch only one fish, just before it's time to go home. It's a 32 pound cat.

After a day like this, he still wants to go back.

CCB

Hmmm, the way the first sentence went, I thought the story was gonna go like this:

It starts at 5:30 am 21 degrees F. I load the boat, my daughter's boyfriend and the truck then head out for the lake. Once on the water, I push him overboard and return to the ramp. Back home by 6am. That'll teach him!
:D :D :D

Damn I didn't go this morning because our Central Florida low was in the 60s thought it was too cold.

I'll push him out next time, if needed. Long as he knows I have that option, I shouldn't have many problems with him.

Yeah, there are not too many of my friends who will bear the cold to go boating/fishing, during the winter.
I still go though.
It's nice to have the lakes all to myself. :D

phantoms, what you are describing is called South Georgia Birth Control (Father's Style). Works pretty well too.

Where you from in GA? I am the Savannah area.

I'm in Savannah too. If you look closely at my avatar, you'll notice it's one of the Savannah River Boats from the River St. area. I usually launch out of Demeries creek off 144 in Richmond Hill (well, Bryan county anyway) and fish in the Medway/Sunbury/St. Catherines areas.

BTW, the link in my sig. is full of people in our area.
