First Day of Holiday Weekend A Success!! It Was Wonderful!!

Did everyone have a good Saturday of boating this Labor Day Weekend? My day was great, I still feel like it was a dream. Got the impeller replaced last night, although the shop sold my friend the wrong one while I was flying home from Ohio. I left a little later than I wanted this morning, left at 9 instead of 6. We got to the boat ramp, this one was 45 miles away, but there was no ramp traffic whatsoever! Then we launched, took a 30 minute boating trip to Egmont Key, water was like glass! The part of the island we parked at was empty, no boat traffic or pedestrian traffic at all!

The only issue was when some crazy rip current broke my friend's and my anchors loose (can't put them on shore, nature conservation area, so we do bow out and stern facing shore) and we had to swim a marathon to retrieve them! I had to play lifeguard and help my fiancee and my friend, but all was well in the end. I snagged my anchor line on an anchor cut from some boat long ago, so I got a free anchor.

There were spotted eagle rays jumping completely out of the water all day! That was cool, never seen it before. Made it back to boat ramp, only one person ahead of us who was very courteous. It was a wonderful day, not one drop of rain, fun at the island, and this was the absolute best experience I ever had at the ramp.

Been on Vaca all week (yes i'm braggin') got my boat in the water wed played with the prop / motor setup - all good there , got my humminbird w/GPS in , took a hot lady for a long ride fri , and today got the stereo / speakes in !
Feel like i got more done on the boat in one week than all the rest of the year !!!!
We got a pack of Great Whites off Chatham .....Still time for fishing this weekend ..... Maybe I'll stick to Buzzards Bay

We've been going through what we call a simi-home remod. We have installed new wood floors in the entire house, including lien closets and new Granite Counter-tops in the kitchen. My love of my life ask me to today, " What are we going to do this week-end?" I thought for a min. and said "Let's take the boat out, maybe fish awhile and see what happens". She said....hummm, " I was thinking we'd go and look for a new Sofa and love seat for both the family rooms and living room" .....Like you said, it's a Holiday Weekend.......but not for FishyFish... Geez, I can fish any of the seven days of the week........She reminded me of that fact!...

......Gee Hon , is there a spectacular sale this weekend we jus CAN'T miss ?? We can shop any day of the week too.....

I went out on saturday morning around 10am.... 6 boats in line ahead of me.... we stayed on the lake just crusing and relaxing for about 4 hours, (the lake was very calm and temps were 78 degrees...) Then we headed back in and has to wait for one boat before we could retrieve.
I am not going out today, but will be back in the water on Monday, by the relatives house.

Well, my vacation kicked off Friday morning, I got paid for the plane rides (all three of them) home, and off till the next Monday. I am getting ready to go on the boat again now, just had to get my dose of iBoats first. I hope everyone has a safe and happy trip on the boat. I'm off for the next 8 days, so I will be sure to be on the boat every day.
