So what are you doing to get her started? Waiting, wiggling wires, charging the battery?????

Had a simular issue with my 3.0 turned out to be the slave solenoid. Check out HOW TO: Troubleshooting your engines starting system

Slave relay

Yep, that's what my Maxum was doing right when we took delivery from the dealer; was not new.

Once I cleaned the connections and re-secured the connections never had this problem again. I did order a spare just in case the slave did fail but never needed to use it.

Re: first key turn of day=silence

Sounds like the safety switch housed inside the shifter can be the issue.Had to change my switch last year .An easy test is to put some pressure on the shift lever while turning the key.If you get nothing, put the same pressure in the other direction and turn the key.As you probably know, the switch allows you to start the engine only while in neutral and prevents being started while in gear.Exactly what you describe is a symptom of a bad switch .You may be able to adjust it as well.Charlie
