I can't wait to get my one year old fs175 out. The new stainless prop has only been wet once.

Anyone doing any boating? Irv?

What do you all do with your boats in the off season? Mine collects dust in the garage.

Mine has been in hibernation all winter DeepV, I would love to have it out but I believe most of our lakes around here are still froze?;)
It probably won't come out until our May 2-4 week-end up here?
Mine gets serviced, shrink wrapped and stored outdoors at the Marine shop/dealer I bought it from. I may just bring it home this coming fall and do all this myself as the warranty is done this coming July?
Looking forward to this coming boating season big time!........Irv964

Hey Irv,

Good to hear from you. I haven't been out yet either but weather cooperating it will happen within the next several days.

With things slowing down at work (aircraft industry) they are looking at 5 separate 1 week shut downs to save money instead of layoffs. Three of those are during this summer and I am thinking "boat vacations"!

Can't wait to launch it.

One thing I did do this winter is rewire the stereo thru the ACC switch.

Now the battery doesn't run down while it sits. This is alot better.

Hello to everyone in the Lowe forum. I just got my first Lowe last fall and Im looking forward to my first full season with it. I traded in a '87 Basstracker for a new FM165 with a 75 Optimax. I havent had much time in it yet but it seems like a great boat. Ill be doing some prop testing on it in the near future and ill post the results.

Welcome bryonthefly, glad to have you on board and congrats on your new Lowe fishing machine!
Last year I put a new Hustler Turning Point prop on my 90 4 stroke and I couldn't be happier, great prop imo but what I found out, there is a lot more to just purchasing any prop and thinking your going to see amazing results.
Here is the review I did, it covers other areas like engine height, rpms etc. Good luck and keep us posted........Irv

Thank you for your excellent review, very informative. I actually read it last week and decided to try the Hustler on my boat. I have a brand new 13.25x19p and 13.25x17p sitting right here ready to go as soon as the weather will allow. Its 44 deg. with a stiff north wind here today, otherwise i'd be out there right now. They have the Hustlers on sale on this site right now for 87.99 with the hub!!! I couldnt resist to go ahead and buy both the 19 and 17 before testing at that price. They look like a quality piece and I like the idea of having the vent holes. Ill post the results soon, I hope.

That is a great price, I paid around $150 here in Canada for both pieces last year! With the exchange, shipping etc it looks like I can get one for $133 approx to my door, at that price, I may just order a 17P as well?
Yea, I wish it was a lot warmer here as well, not that the boat would be put in but it would sure get me thinking more about it!! It is about +3-+5 here right now and they are calling for snow this coming Tuesday? Some spring we are having:eek:

Re: First of the year?

hello everyone...I joined a month or so ago and was hanging out int eh motor forums.

but my new boat is a 2008 LOWE Ultra Roughneck 2070.
I bought the tiller version and then all the center console pieces, because i wanted the CC a little more forward than they offered, plus I dont like the rear decks.

I already yanked the rear bench and having a welder in lfa. make up benches that run down the sides to hold the flotation foam... so i have a flat level floor all the way to the transom.
The same welder is making flotation pods for the transom to give me added bouancy to keep me floating shallow.

i have a 70 HP eveinrude aparts now for it and a 90 HP ocean pro evinrude as well that i just picked up last week.

I will hang the motor on a hydraulic jack plate , so i can motor in very shallow water

this is a nice big wide stable boat 96" beam!! 20.5' long.... once i get one of the motors mounted, I'll do soem striper fishing in may and june!!!!

talk to you later

bob
