first salt water setup!!!

ill b leaving for orlando in 3 weeks to go to skool and after i get out I'm goin to move somewhere in florida near the ocean and i have a 30 dollar gift card to bass pro and i was gunna get my first saltwater rod. I'm goin to move to tampa bay area so ill just b fishing in the bay but im not sure what kinda of rod to get, like length and power, to get. this will b the only rod i have for a while so it will have to do everything from lures to live bait. any suggestions would help!

Ummm, pretty general question and 1000's of answers. If you already fish like I do just use what you have. I live in WI in the summer and FL gulf in the winter. Use the same gear in both places. I just rinse them off and oil them more often when in FL. Got some rigs that are several years old and still working just fine. Besides $30 won't buy much now days. "skool" ??

I agree $30 not much but I love my uglysicks and they are cheap and will last a life time but I take the junk reel they come with and trash it and put on a good old pen 704z or 710.
